Kiran Bedi became the champion of  national junior tennis championship in 1966. After she is joining IPS, Kiran Bedi served in Goa, Mizoram and Delhi. She started career as a DCP(Deputy Commissioner of Police) in Delhi, After she won the Medal of President’s Police Medal in 1979.

In 1988,.After Kiran Bedi was  transferred to Mizoram, where Kiran bedi faced many another controversy. Although her daughter  topped in the merit list,  the seat allocat was legal, Kiran Bedi had leave to Mizoram amid violent threats. Then Kiran bedi returned back to Delhi, where she was charge of the Tihar Jail. Kiran bedi  introduced several of reforms at Tihar, Then Kiran bedi won The Award of Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1994.

In 2003,Kiran bedi became the first woman appointed to the Adviser of United Nations Civilian Police Advisers. Kiran bedi retired in 2007, Kiran bedi focus on Writing and social activism. Kiran bedi has 3 sisters: Reeta, Anu. Bedi’s father Prakash Lal Peshawaria helped with the family is business of  textile, and also played game of Tennis.Kiran bedi's grandfather name is Muni Lal, Muni lal peshawaria had controlled the family business of Textile, Gave an allowance to bedi’s father.

In 1954 Kiran bedi started a formal studies, In Sacred Heart Convent School in Punjab. Kiran bedi participated in NCC(National Cadet Corps), and joined other extra-curricular activities. When Kiran bedi  was in Class 9, She had join Cambridge College, After a private institute is offered Prepared for matriculation exam and science education. Then She cleared Matriculation (Class 10). In 1968 Kiran Bedi graduated with a BA, in English, from Amritsar, Government College for Women at Punjab. In  same year, Bedi won the NCC(National Cadet Corps),  Cadet Officer Award. In 1970, she Cleared  a Master's degree, In Political Science from Chandigarh, Panjab University. In 1970 to 1972, Kiran Bedi taught a lecturer in Khalsa College for Amritsar. She also Cleared Law degree in 1988 and Ph.D. in 1993.
